BHFF

Good times at The Beverly Hills Fashion Festival. Rock & Revolution was one of a handful of designers/artists ( actually I was the only artist ) asked to participate in the very extravagant affair with the likes of William Rast, H. Lorenzo and Elie Tahari.

Great connection were made and two paintings ( Elvis and Tupac ) found a new home!

Fast Times at Fred Segal

Fun times with my old crew from Fred Segal the other night...

Launch party for a new vegan cosmetics line ( and they have a reality show airing on the TV Guide Channel coming up - so cameras were rolling ). So great to catch up with my old friends. I used to work at Fred Segal over 15 years ago and always find time to support my peeps. Karen especially, I have known her over 25 years. I also got to bring my new crew from Kush along to blend my families... the boys had a great time and so did I!

Jo Newman shoot

Great shoot with John Hildebrand and actress Jo Newman who's new movie "Love and Other Drugs" ( starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway ) hits theaters next month.

Jo loved all of the selections we had for the shoot, especially her Kush Collection ( see it over her Bubululu bikini below ) jacket she left the set with.

Next up... finding her a dress for the premiere!

It seems like I have been mentioning John Hildebrand quite a lot in my posts lately and that's only because aside from being a wonderful friend, we work often together in both his photography and Sicky Dicky events.

Help spread the word.

The anti-paparazzi bill that my friend Skylar Peake and John Hildebrand have been working on since last November is finally going up for a vote in the California Senate on Thursday, August 26th, 2010 – some time during the day.

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG), the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office are all in support of the bill along with the Paparazzi Reform Initiative.

However, the bill is definitely not assured to pass. Some Senators who have never even seen a paparazzo may not understand the danger and mental anguish they can cause.

It is important that we call and email all the Senators we can to encourage them to vote YES on AB 2479.

We don’t have to contact them all. We’ve made a list of the ones that may need the most encouragement along with their email address and some phone number.

The Senators do monitor how many calls and emails they get. They really do listen. We have a chance to get this bill passed which will put stiffer penalties in place for paparazzi who chase people in cars – and even more severe penalties if they chase someone in a car that has a child in it.

Please help. Send as many emails and make as many calls as you can. If you have staff, please have them all do the same. I will send out an email letting you know if the bill passed or failed as soon as it happens. So until you hear from me, assume the vote hasn’t taken place and keep calling and emailing.

Let’s get this important bill passed and turned into law! Let’s help those who are chased in cars – especially the kids.

Lucky me....

I have the most wonderful, dedicated girls that work for me... and now they are off the college!

Heartleigh ( far left ) is going to NYU, Allegra to The American University in Paris and Savannah ( far right ) to Boston University. Smart, beautiful, loyal, giving.... too amazing character traits many to list. I am truly blessed.

They return for Christmas.. can't wait!

Mary Poppins Chic

The talented Mira Sorvino stopped by the store today checking up on some special orders and asked us to style her for a new film she starts next week in New York. The theme? Mary Poppins chic and throw in a little boho. We'll post the results - which I would have loved my favorite photographer, John Hildebrand to shoot ( and he so graciously offered ) - but we have no time and might have to polaroid it - Rachel Zoe style...
